During the Fall semester of my senior year at Hofstra University, I was enrolled in a Magazine Production course. On the first day of class, the class as a whole was told we would be producing Hofstra's semesterly issue of Pulse Magazine. We would be in charge of everything, including ad sales, story generation, design and layout, printing, and distribution. The course professor, who I had the pleasure of taking in a previous course, asked me to be the Art Director based on my previous work. I humbly accepted the position, and was put in charge of every fine design detail of the magazine. I designed the entire 40-page inside spread, as well as the cover. I selected and edited all photos. I decided on every font size, color, placement, and style. It was a difficult but rewarding experience. The Dean of Communications at the University called it one of the most beautiful issues he has seen produced.
I am incredibly proud of my work and the design of Pulse Magazine. That said, I look back on it as a reminder of how far I have come.
